Special Needs Parents and Teachers, It's often necessary to make others uncomfortable at the IEP table. Do it anyway. In fact, if you're feeling uncomfortable, you're probably doing everything RIGHT!
Changing IEP goals can be uncomfortable.
Discussing placements can be uncomfortable.
Giving updated data can be uncomfortable.
Telling people what they don't want to hear is just simply uncomfortable.
But, if you are speaking from facts, not feelings. And you are being truthful with compassion. You need to do what's right for your child or student at the IEP table.
Even when it's uncomfortable.
